I had the chance to test the KETTLER E-SCOPRIONS FS in the Livigno bike park.

The bike proved to be a really handy (19.4 kg) and fun bike.
The brand new 250W Shimano Steps E8000 allows us to have quite a smoothe ride. 
Compared to other engines, Shimano Steps did not give me the "empty" feeling that other e-bikes have.

The ride mount is automatically controlled by a unit, which is currently the most lightweight and efficient on the market.


The system includes a small computer that mounts to the handlebar, allowing the rider to cycle through the three engine modes: ECO, TRAIL, and BOOST.
 The engine runs up to 25 kmh. 
I was a little disappointed with the battery life. When we returned the bikes the onboard computer showed a battery level with 6 km Boost, 9 km in Trail, and 12 in Eco remaining (we rode in a bike park and We did not use the engine much!).

I found the WALK function very useful. This mode allowed us to receive assistance when we had to push the bike while walking.

The XT DI2 electronic shifting system really surprised me. It was silent, accurately displayed the gear in use. 
As a suspension kit the bike was outfitted with a RockShox Revelation RL AS 140 mm fork, and the rear shock was a RockShox Monarch RT.

The Magura MT5 brakes for the front and MT4 for the rear are powerful and perfect for bringing the bike to a stop, but I was not so impressed with some aspects of the brakes. The levers were set very far from the handlebars and did not make me feel safe.

The bike really surprised me. The agility of an Enduro bike, with the engine's readiness, make this bike one of the most fun I've ever tried.

A tip: do not use the BOOST mode on jumps ... you could take the flight!
