I tested the new Canyon strive CF 7.0 and I was very satisfied with the new ShapeShifter system, canyon joins the Gravity and All Mountain world to satisfy all riders.

Compared to the 2019 model, the frame is the same but components and colors change.
What I liked the most between price, color and assembly was the CF 7.0 Team Infrared, a two-tone pastel gray and a fluo red, which gives it a cheeky and racing look. Don't worry ... it is also available in Sthealth coloring, for lovers of sober looks.
The strive is famous for its ShapeShifter system, which is completely renewed already on the 2019 models and, compared to the old system that I tried on a friend's bike, this one is really very intuitive and easy to use. The Strive's frame is totally carbon and is very square, the internal cable makes the Strive very clean, has a knocker that protects the frame fixed with two screws and a frame protector. Even if you have more things on the handlebars you don't have the classic "Christmas tree" effect, what is different are the ShapeShifter handcuffs that are located above that of the reverb. Everything is very nice and I assure you that in the photo it is stylish, but live it is much more beautiful!
The Strive turns into an All Mountain with a Click!
It's like having two bikes in one, it's very responsive and steep climbs are no longer a problem. This allowed me to do longer laps and to stay in the saddle for even more hours. The ShapeShifter on the technician feels a lot, the saddle angle helps me pedaling to have a more correct position and climbs well even on stones and roots.
WHAT IS THE SHAPESHIFTER SYSTEM?
It is a hydraulic system made by Fox that, via a remote control, moves the shox and changes the geometry of the bike.
In climbing there is the steering angle of 67.5 degrees and the seat angle at 75 degrees, while in descent the steering angle at 66 degrees and the seat angle at 73.5 degrees.
To function the ShapeShifter must be inflated according to your weight, following the table.
The ShapeShifter is protected by a pressure plastic cover, I found it well fixed and does not create hateful vibrations. For now it has never come off.
This Strive has a very sensitive rear carriage and is very agile in narrow passages even if it has 29 ”wheels.
It's all very easy and intuitive: you press clack and take off, the Strive is super easy to handle, responsive and really fast.
I used it after the Lockdown and it reads in thought what you want to do, it brought me to my limit only after a few rides and it is the 3000 € model ...
The only flaw I found on this CF 7.0 is the brakes, which for a more Gravity use are not the best. Fortunately, Canyon offers several models, or simply upgrade and replace them with a more performing system.
Instead, what surprised me is the suspension: after a few descents I found the right setup without much difficulty and adjustments.
The right fitting-price compromise and thanks to the ShapeShifter you have two bikes at your fingertips.
After a few rides, this Strive has become MY bike and I would still choose it again without a doubt for its versatility and driving fun.
