Jam² 29 PRO 2017.

OUR OPINION

Last weekend we were in Nago near Riva del Garda to join the SQUARED EXPERIENCE by FOCUS.
During the briefing where Marc Faude - Head of e-bike Department FOCUS - and Alexander Glink - Product Manager e-bike FOCUS- told us the details about the new
bikes and they explained the concept of Squared Eexperience: Focus did not design a new e-bike, but gave the BEGINNING of a new era, a new
Mountainbike concept, allows to overcome the limitations, feel new emotions, increase the adrenaline and drive impossible distances.

The Jam² and Bold² are the result of this work.
Often the bikers who like to train with muscle bikes criticize and do not understand the true concept of e-bike: in their view the essence disappears
the pedaling and e-bikes are aesthetically ugly because the bulky battery that does not allow the eye to embrace the soft lines of the frame,
but about the Jam² and Bold² they are wrong!

We tried the Jam² 29 PRO: a bike that has left us speechless both visually and after trying it.
This bike was created following a guideline:
No compromises. Every decision was made to get a top performance.
The frame design is clean, the cables are inside the frame and motor and battery are perfectly integrated.
Focus has chosen Shimano Steps E8000, the only motor - for now - on the market that, when you climb aboard, you have the same position of a normal MTB.

The battery is composed of 30 cells from 380W / 10,5Ah and it is positioned inside the frame. It has a lower life compared to others on the market but to be perfect
supplement with an extra battery.
Focus also adopts Tailored Energy Concept Technology (T.E.C.): The rider can choose the battery that prefers, offering greater flexibilityand a maximum capacity of 756 Wh between integrated and extra battery.
Three versions to use the T.E.C .: integrated battery, integrated battery pack + additional energy and the possibility of a Smart Rack for a bottle cage or you can even take extra equipment, such as a spare tube and a CO2 cartridge.
The JAM2 has a "Airflow" ventilation technology developed by engineers Focus for optimal cooling of the battery, with openings in the upper part of the frame carry air to the engine ensuring the optimum temperature.

F.O.L.D. - Focus Optimized Linkage Design is able to meet all requirements from cross-country to enduro: the shock is positioned vertically to have a low center of gravity and the center so you can have a very manageable bike but also perfect for an aggressive drive.
The system's travel is divided in two phases. Within the first phase of travel, the system works degressively for super sensitivity, Thereby Eliminating microbumps and generating immense grip.
The second phase of the travel offers fine tuned for progression Both plushness and feedback while still Ensuring enough bottom-out resistance. So the rider is always in control of the bike.
To match this technology and to generate the ultimate riding performance we use only dedicated tuned shocks.
This Focus e-bike has really surprised us: pure adrenaline both uphill and downhill!
With this test the Jam² Focus has given us power and driveability: with few rides assisted by the motor allow you to carry his 20kg, to double the number of kilometers, but also to have a compact, soft and stable bike for the fun down the hill .
We hope to try the Jam on our trails to enjoy more of this rad bike!
